Inspired by his mother’s childhood stories, Adrian Menghes, the creator of the concept “Butoiul cu Inghetata” (The Ice Cream Barrel), tirelessly sought throughout the Oltenia region to discover the secrets of making traditional Romanian ice cream.
His perseverance paid off, and with the help of Uncle Ion from Valcea, who had been making ice cream for over 60 years, he brought back, in an inventive way, a natural delight crafted in the ice barrel to those seeking sunny days of ice cream.
The ice cream is made by placing the ingredients in a stainless steel cylinder, which is then placed in a barrel, around which ice and salt are added (to speed up the freezing process). After that, the stainless steel cylinder is manually rotated for about 4 hours. Subsequently, the ice cream is stored in a safe place that meets the necessary sanitary and environmental criteria.
The recipes are original and we use only natural ingredients.
We make the ice cream from scratch and manually create the necessary creams for flavors such as pistachio paste, vanilla paste, and many others from our assortments. We do not use artificial additives or synthetic essences. Our ice cream is tasty and honest with its tasters.
